Mrs. Yasmin Akter “Meem” is the Founder and Head of Chambers, an accomplished Barrister-at-Law of the Honorable Society of Gray’s Inn, London, and an Advocate of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh—the highest court of the country. With decades of legal experience across Bangladesh and the United Kingdom, she brings a rare combination of domestic and international legal expertise.
She enrolled as an Advocate of the District Court, Dhaka in 2003, was admitted to the High Court Division in 2010, and has since been actively practicing before the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. Her legal career reflects deep courtroom experience, strong advocacy, and a consistent record of handling complex and high-stakes matters.
Mrs. Yasmin completed her LL.B. (Honours) and LL.M. from the University of Dhaka. During her academic years, she worked closely with the Bangladesh Environmental Lawyers Association (BELA) as an associate lawyer and successfully conducted several Public Interest Litigation (PIL) cases. She also gained research and policy exposure through her work with the Bangladesh Institute of Law and International Affairs (BILIA).
From 2018 to 2022, she served as a Senior Associate at A. Hossain & Associates, Chamber of Barrister Ajmalul Hossain, Senior Advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, where she conducted a large number of cases before the High Court Division. She advised and represented asylum seekers from diverse jurisdictions and handled complex matters involving visa applications, citizenship, deportation, family law, landlord-tenant disputes, personal injury, and conveyancing.
